One of the benefits of living in Southern Oregon is being close to Ashland. A small college town, bursting with art and culture; it is the home of The Oregon Shakespeare Festival and The Ashland Independent Film Festival.
The film festival is especially exciting. As you know, at sexy gypsy, we are HUGE indie film fans. And The Ashland Independent Film Festival brings us the best of them. Films like Outsourced, Gimme Shelter, My Effortless Brilliance and Young@Heart all played at AIFF just last year. The full schedule for this year doesn’t drop till Tuesday. And we are already anticipating an awesome festival. It’s a great opportunity to experience amazing cinema, one wouldn’t normally get to see.
This year is a little extra special. Because, thanks to the supercool movieposter.com, sexy gypsy is going to be there. A sponsor of the festival, movieposter.com was kind enough to hook us up with tickets. Thanks movieposter.com! So we will be at the festival, April 2-6, giving you an inside look at some of our favorite films of the week. If there any specific films you want us to review, leave a comment and we’ll get to them.
Definitely check out movieposter.com and show some love to one of the few businesses out there who support independent film. You can buy posters from all your favorite films, as well as vintage posters, music posters and a bunch more. You can even have your art framed or get a full-size cardboard stand-up. My favorite part of their site is the movieposter.com Gallery. They hold exhibits and work as a non-profit to showcase the artists. So be sure to stop by and check them out. It’s cool website with a passion for this under appreciated art form. And again, a big BIG thank you to Shelly from movieposter.com!!
